Meet Britt
Hi, I'm Britt! I hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Michigan, along with minor studies in Programming in the Environment and Human Behavior. I come from a big family—one of seven kids, right in the middle—which gave me an early, hands-on education in child development. Both of my parents are educators (my dad is a high school English teacher and my mom is a speech pathologist and special education program coordinator for preschool-aged children), so nurturing, teaching, and caring for kids has always been second nature to me.
I’ve babysat my entire life, spent nearly three years nannying full-time for multiple families, and have been teaching kids dance (ages 2–14) since 2013—an experience I truly loved.
Outside of childcare, I’m deeply passionate about plants, movement, and music. I’ve worked professionally in wholesale garden greenhouses and continue that love at home with more houseplants than I can count and a backyard that resembles a jungle. I’m also a certified 200-hour registered yoga teacher and maintain a regular personal practice.
What I love most about kids is their openness. I’m endlessly inspired by their willingness to try new things, explore the world, and experience life with curiosity and wonder. I especially love seeing kids grow in confidence—there’s nothing more rewarding than helping a child feel safe, supported, and empowered enough to shine. A few fun facts to round things out: I have two wonderful kitties, and I recently started a peanut company with my boyfriend (yes, peanuts!). On weekends, you can find me selling peanuts and peanut brittle at farmers markets in Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch.
